Named Scholarships

The Lake Travis Education Foundation is a 501c3 organization and, as such, donations to the organization are tax deductible.

Named Honorary/Memorial Scholarships may be established in the name of one or more individuals. Not all memorial donations, however, must be set up in a named fund - you may simply request memorials to the Foundation in memory of a loved one.

Ongoing Memorial Scholarship Funds currently accept contributions honoring Grace Massey, Carla McDonald, B.J. Morehead, and Shelley Stillman, and scholarship endowment funds were established by the families and friends of Jean Drysdale, Sandi Hanson, and Ben Perkins.  The Foundation also administers the Women's Club of Greater Lakeway Scholarship fund, and donations to this fund should be submitted directly to the Women's Club representative.

Scholarship Funds may be set up in the following categories:

Honorary/Memorial Scholarship

This non-endowment, honorary/memorial award is given in the current fiscal year (June-May) and awards all of the designated funds received in honor/memory of the individual through the May scholarship awards process. LTEF agrees to accept and track contributions toward this scholarship from various individuals during the year, and will issue tax statements to all contributors.

  • Minimum contribution: none

Cavalier Scholarship

This non-endowment scholarship with a founding donation of at least $1,000 will be held and granted during the approved school year(s).  LTEF agrees to accept and track contributions toward this scholarship from various individuals and businesses, and will issue tax statements to all contributors.

This scholarship may be created in honor or memory of an individual, or it may be designated for a certain interest area (i.e., arts scholarship, etc.).

  • Minimum founding contribution:  $1,000

Legacy Scholarship

This scholarship places a founding donation of at least $25,000 into an endowment fund, of which only the interest earned will be awarded annually.  A perpetual award will be granted in $1,000 annual scholarship increments, based on the amount of interest generated.

This scholarship may be created in honor or memory of an individual, or it may be designated for a certain interest area (i.e., arts scholarship, etc.).

  • Minimum founding contribution:  $25,000

An Education Foundation committee interviews applicants for scholarships annually and selects all scholarship winners.
