Scholarships for LTHS Seniors

The Lake Travis Education Foundation administers a number of named scholarship funds on behalf of families and organizations.  Since its inception in 1985, LTEF has awarded 701 scholarships totaling $651,520 to graduating Lake Travis High School seniors.

All applicants are considered using the following minimum eligibility requirements:

Graduating Lake Travis High School Student.  You must be graduating from Lake Travis High School in the year of application and entering college or vocational school no later than the fall following graduation.

Strong academic achievement.  Academic performance is important; other considerations include demonstrated commitments such as family, community, school, extracurricular activities, honors and awards, and work experience.

Choose the appropriate scholarship fund.  You must meet the criteria as established by the representatives of each scholarship fund and indicate which fund in your online application.  You may choose multiple funds for consideration if you meet the listed criteria.  If you do not meet the criteria for these named awards, please do not submit an application.

Take the SAT and/or ACT.

Complete the LTEF online application and submit all appropriate documentation by the deadlines. The LTEF scholarship package involves two steps and two deadlines.

  1. 12:00 noon on due date: Your official high school transcript (with 7 semesters) plus two (and only two) hand-signed letters of professional reference (non-relatives) must be delivered to the LTEF collection box in the high school counselor's office by 12:00 noon on the deadline date.  Additionally, if you did not have your SAT/ACT scores submitted to LTHS, please drop off a copy with the transcript and reference letters.

  2. 12:00 midnight on due date: Submit online application by midnight.  There will be no allowances for "computer problems" and we suggest you submit your application early.

Schedule and attend an interview.  You will be notified by the committee as to whether or not you will be granted an interview.  Interviews will be scheduled by your high school counseling office.

NOTE: Some named scholarship funds may not be awarded if adequate funding is not available in a given year.  Additionally, if applicants do not meet the established guidelines, funds may be held over to future award years.

The Foundation also works to provide information to juniors and seniors on how to prepare for and win scholarships and learn more about the application process.
